It teaches the basic samba passista step, how to carry yourself, and even advanced techniques in samba dance in the style of Rio de Janeiro from SambaLa Madrinha da Bateria, Valeria Ruggieri. Valeria has been on Dancing with the Stars, has done choreography for the Rose Parde, and has danced hundreds of shows including several international. Brazilian Couple Dancing
You go to SambaLá and see Brazilians dancing as couples and now you want to learn! SambaLá will teach you! Learn how to dance the Pagode (slow couple samba dancing), Forrô (Brazilian Country Dancing - hot in Brazil), and of the course the forbidden dance the Lambada.

Teaching in Schools
SambaLá also teaches classes in elementary schools. For the 2000-2001, SambaLá was chosen and paid to give classes by the Public Corporations of the Arts, and the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach to elementary school kids.
