Samba School Drumming
Caixa, repinique, surdo, chucalho, pandeiro, tamborim, agogô, tam-tam, cuica - you can learn them all in our Brazilian Samba School "Bateria" (Percussion) class. Whether it's the slow samba, fast-paced samba enredo, or any afro-Brazilian rhythm, you won't run out of things to learn an to in this class!

Classes by SambaLa Directors
You can learn to drum every week. No experience needed. We provide the drums. Drumming is taught by David de Hilster, Jason Brancazio, and Pedro who have been involved with Brazilian music many yearsand has played with SambaLa in hundreds of shows.

Graduate to Carnaval and Professional Shows
Once you have dominated at least two instruments, you qualify to play with the Bateria at free shows and at our carnaval in September. Once you have become a top player, you can travel southern California and the world to do professional shows!
