SambaLa Samba School and Contemporana present an Intensive Samba School Drum workshop with master teacher Rodney De Assis from Rio de Janeiro. Learn all the instruments including caixa, repinique, surdo, agogo, quica, chucalho. All students will have a chance to buy Contemporanea instruments, play with SambaLa at the Brazilian Street Carnaval, and audition for the Sambaleza professional samba group. $15 / class, $45 for 4 classes. SambaLa invites all its members and friends to an open rehearsal for the samba school. All ages can join in playing with the samba percussion group (bateria) and learning and dancing samba.
